What Is ACE-031

ACE-031, myostatin inhibition in a bottle?

ACE-031 is a relativley new peptide that has flown under the radar for many but has been experimented with with some of the more curious athletes around the world. Its primary reason for being of interest is its potential to be a potent blocker of myostatin within muscle cells.

It is a recombinant fusion protein, not a traditional short peptide. It was developed by Acceleron Pharma in partnership with Shire, and it's designed to inhibit myostatin—a key regulator of muscle growth.

  • Structure: It's a soluble form of the activin receptor type IIB (ActRIIB) fused with part of an antibody (IgG1 Fc domain).

  • Function: Binds and neutralizes myostatin and other ligands (like activins) in the TGF-β superfamily that suppress muscle growth.
