How Does ACE-031 Work

Myostatin Inhibition:
Myostatin is a protein that inhibits muscle differentiation and growth.
ACE-031 acts as a "decoy receptor"—it binds circulating myostatin, preventing it from interacting with muscle cell receptors.
This releases the “brakes” on muscle growth, allowing for increased muscle mass and strength.
ACE-031 also binds activins A and B, which are involved in inflammation and muscle
catabolism, enhancing its muscle-preserving effects.
Why Use ACE-031?
Originally developed to treat muscle-wasting diseases, especially:
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)
Sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss)
Cachexia (muscle wasting due to cancer, AIDS, chronic illness)
Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
COPD-related muscle atrophy
Potential Uses (Off-Label/Experimental):
Athletic performance and bodybuilding (muscle hypertrophy)
Faster recovery from injury or surgery
Preventing muscle loss during cutting or illness
Reported Effects:
From animal studies and early human trials (before trials were halted):
Increase in lean muscle mass
Enhanced strength and endurance
Reduced fat mass
No significant androgenic effects (unlike most anabolic steroids)
Results were rapid—muscle gain in weeks, not months, was observed in trials
